Behind the Wines

Comunica Viticultors is the passion project of Pep Aguilar and Patri Morillo, two winemakers by vocation and profession. With over 25 years of experience among vineyards and barrels, we’ve dedicated our lives to learning, experimenting, and growing as professionals, always striving to better understand the land and ensure respect for the terroir and the processes that bring authentic, character-driven wines to life.

Over the years, we’ve collaborated with numerous wineries across Mediterranean wine regions—Priorat, Montsant, Penedès, Costers del Segre, Valencia, Almansa, and Bullas—providing guidance on key aspects of viticulture and winemaking. Our training and experience have allowed us to assist producers with grape variety selection, vineyard management, vinification techniques, and the optimization of production processes.

All of this has been driven by a clear goal: to craft wines of the highest quality that fully express the character of the terroir and the passion of the people behind them. Additionally, we’ve worked closely with growers to improve sustainability in wineries, ensuring wines that respect and align with the principles of responsible viticulture, committed to the future.

Knowledge and Experience

Each of these collaborations over the years has been an opportunity to contribute our knowledge and experience, while also paving the way for us to launch our own project in 2014: Mas d’en Cosme. Located in Falset (Tarragona), this vineyard estate features granite soils and exceptional native grape varieties, where we craft our DO Montsant wines.

To achieve this, we fully harness the benefits of the region’s granite soils, which impart remarkable freshness and acidity to the grapes, ensuring that our wines retain their vibrancy, liveliness, and a clean, pure expression. We also carefully select high-quality grape varieties, such as Grenache, Hairy Grenache, White Grenache, Grey Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah, which are perfectly suited to the terroir and contribute to the singularity and purity of every Comunica Viticultors wine.
